We are in for a treat!
We've got two America's Cup champions coming to Worser Bay Boating Club for the 2022 Boat Shed Chat. The event was to held on Friday night, 04 March 2022 but with the move to the RED traffic light setting we have had to postpone for now. A new date will be set as we get through this current challenge and move back to the Orange or Green settings. In the meantime read about what it is all about and perhaps reserve your seat or table.
Design guru Elise Beavis and our very own Josh Junior will be with us for the evening to regale us with untold stories and riveting banter from the world of high performance sailing. America's Cup and Olympic Sailing commentator Peter Lester will be on hand to guide the conversation for us and to uncover the real oil.
Elise joined the Emirates Team New Zealand design team in the build up to the 36th America's Cup in Bermuda and was instrumental in the aero busting and power maximising cyclor concept. During the 37th edition of the cup she was an integral part of the design team that established the foiling mono hull concept and created Te Rehutai, the winning design.
Josh is no stranger to Worser Bay but has plenty of new stories to tell since he was last in Wellington. With a second America's Cup victory, a world championship win, a fifth place at the Olympics and a bunch of regattas in the fledgling NZL Sail GP team under his belt since he was last home, there will be plenty of new tales to entertain us all.
The Boat Shed Chat is our annual fund raising dinner for our Boat & Beach Wise programmes. During the evening we will be having an auction led by our world famous auctioneers.
