Youth Squad (2026-2027 season)
Our programme that keeps young people progressing in sailing. The youth squad is for STARLING and ILCA sailors and includes weekly coaching and a series of clinics, plus match racing, teams racing and foiling opportunities. There is also a Tuakana development pathway for sailors in the youth squad.

About the Event
The Youth Squad is run by Yachting New Zealand qualified coaches with coaching provided during Term 4 and Term 1 on Tuesdays and through a series of specific clinics organised for and with the group of sailors throughout the season. The youth squad programme includes match racing and teams racing components which are organised in intesive blocks at different times during the season.
● Regular Tuesday after-school training. (4:30pm-7:30pm)
● Thursday free sailing. (4:30pm-7:30pm)
● Saturday afternoon racing. (1:00pm - 3:30pm)
● Plus clinics, with sailors travelling to regional, national, and international events.
● Target classes: Starling, and ILCA 4.7, 6 and 7.
