Our programme to get young people into regular sailing. After your Start Sailing Course this is your next step. The club's PLASTIC OPTIMISTS are used.

About the Event
Opti Squad is run every Saturday morning, starting at 9.00 am and running through to 12.00 am. Opti Squad uses the ‘Sailing Fast’ syllabus, which is the second level in the Yachting New Zealand Start Sailing pathway. Young people who graduate from Opti Squad are awarded a ‘Sailing Fast’ certificate. This Squad uses club plastic, but Sailors are encouraged to buy their own boat. Ideally, you are in this program for two terms, but it is sailor-dependent.
This programme costs $75 per term.
Please note that you need to have joined the club to participate in Opti Squad.
