Worser Bay Boating Club offers opportunities to students of local schools
The Club offers each year to local primary schools the opportunity for a free half day sailing experience usually during the last week of November /first week of December. The Club provides qualified instructors, rescue boats, life jackets, helmets and Optimist yachts plus showers and changing facilities.
The number of students is limited to 30 per half day. Schools can apply for more than one half day and the Club tries to accommodate them if possible. The schools need to provide a 1:10 ratio of teacher/ parent to student. The Club instructors are excluded from the ratio and are only responsible for students on the water or receiving dry land tuition or the safety briefing.
Participants can further the sailing experience by taking past in the Junior Learn to Sail programme following which they can sail at the Club on Saturdays and participate in the free sailing development and racing coached programmes..
Eastern Suburbs Sports Trust has a long history in supporting the schools introduction to sailing programme.
